I looked upon a man,
standing on a corner,
a sign protesting his innocence.
“Will work for food”
I cross the street to avoid the assault.
Not trusting the action requested,
looking for motive, judging.
Easier to ignore.
In the gift of giving who is the recipient?
I suppose a deeper level of giving,
were the recipient is free of indebtedness
and right use of the gift.
You will rarely run out,
not saving for the more deserving,
if only you give from the wellspring of
Love and Understanding.
Oh that I could give from my fathers’ coffers.
I have received the invitation
from the window to my soul.
